February Newsletter 2016

Welcome  2016! we hope everyone had a wonderful holidays season.

Little Friends Preschool staff would like to thank you for all the wonderful Christmas wishes, cards, and gifts we got from you. Thank you so much for your generosity.



Please mark the following dates on your calendar.

February 1st- Mr. Cat in the Hat will be visiting the children at 11:00 a.m. to read them a book and celebrate with us Dr. Seuss Birthday. Please remember that on this day the children are encourage to come in a Dr. Seuss inspired  costume or one inspired by their own imagination!

February 5th-  Post Office fieldtrip from 10:30 a.m. to approximately 11:30 a.m.

February  9th-  SPCA visit at 11:00 a.m.

February 12th-  Valentine’s Day Celebration. We will not be giving out a list of names for the classes.. In the “To” part please only write my friend , and in the “from” area  your child’s name.

February 15th-  School will be closed in honor of President’s day

February 26th-  School community cleaning. We will be having school clean up days on the last Friday of each month. Each class will pick an area of the school they want to clean. We are hoping to teach the children the importance of maintaining a clean environment and the responsibility of having and doing chores.  We want the children to take pride in maintaining a clean environment. Please ask your child about it, and encourage this approach by assigning a chore to your child at home, if they already don’t have one.


A special thanks to Mr. Tony and Mr. Jack Clark for setting up our new Smart TV!

I am happy to announce that Mr. Tony has been leading the Chapel program. Chapel is at 11:30 a.m. every Friday .You are always welcome to join us.

December Newsletter

December is finally here along with its festivities. Little friends Staff would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas. We pray that God continues being the center of your home, and that on this coming year he blesses you with whatever you family needs the most.

I would like to invite you to  donate a small toy or coloring book for the Ashton Maxwell foundation. Ashton was a former student here at LFP who unfortunately passed away of valley fever in 2010. I you would like to make a donation , please place your donation in the large box that is out in the foyer. If you would like more information on Ashton’s  foundation visit or see the information on the box. Thank you in advance.


I would like to thank all of the volunteers that helped out at the Thanksgiving lunch. From now on we will go head and ask for the $5.00 payment instead of bringing in food for potlucks, since it worked out so much better, and got a lot of positive feedback from you. During the lunch less food was gone to waist, and the processes went a lot smoother. The only little detail was that some parents did not turned in their money , and Teachers had to ask for it. (Teachers don’t like to ask for your money).  I would really appreciate if for the Christmas lunch that the dues are paid before the date given, Thank you in advance.


Our fundraiser was a success, A SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL THE PARENT’S THAT SUPPORTED LFP BY SELLING COOKIES. We will be delivering the Cookie Dough on Thursday December 17th. I will need help sorting out, and making sure we got our order correct. Please let me know if you are available on this day during the a.m. hours.

We recognize all of the parent’s and children’s hard work and have decided to give the children a special Movie day. On this day we will be taking the children to the dining hall where we will play a movie on the projector. We will also provide pizza party for the children. You are more than welcome to join us. Please do not pack a lunch for your child on this day.

Children will need to be here ready with customs on at 6:30

Drop your child of in the fun Frog classroom, and wait for the play to begin at the chapel. The play is schedule to begin at 7:00p.m.

December 15th SPCA

December 18th – Special Movie day

11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. don’t pack a Lunch

December 23rd – Christmas Lunch. Please pay the $5.00 for this Lunch before December 18th.

The Lunch will be Chicken Nuggets, vegetables, Fruit, Drink and Dessert.

      November Newsletter

Ephesians 5:20- Give thanks always for all things unto God and the father in the name of our Lord Jesus.

Our Casa De Fruta fieldtrip and  Harvest festivities were a success thanks to all the family volunteers that helped out.  Thank you.

The Little Friends Staff is very excited to announce that  we will be having our very first Cookie Dough fundraiser!

We are asking for your help by supporting us on this exiting milestone for the preschool. We are hoping that each student sells at least 5 orders. The order forms will be going out on November 16th. Money and fundraiser orders will be due on November 30th.  We will be getting our orders two weeks after we place our order.

In advance we thank you for your cooperation and support.


Due to all the leftover food that we get during the potlucks one of the teachers suggested that we ask for $5.00 per student and buy and prepare the food ourselves. I actually really liked this idea and would like to try  it out for our thanksgiving potluck.  Please give me or your child’s teacher your feedback on this new idea.


November brings the splendid autumn air and a long with lots of event s to mark on our calendar.

November 11th – School will be closed in honor of Veterans Day.

November 16th- Fundraiser catalog will be sent out

November 17th- SPCA

November 24th- School Potluck

November 25th- 27th School will be closed- Thanksgiving break

November 30th- Money and fundraiser orders are due.

October Newsletter

Here at the preschool we are all very excited about the new month October! We can’t wait for all of the exiting events October will bring, so please mark your calendars.

Tuesday October 20th – Ms. April from SPCA @ 11:15 a.m.

Friday October 23rd – Casa De Fruta

We will load up the Bus @ 8:00 a.m.

Returning time 2:00 p.m.

Price $20.00 for Adults and Children riding the bus.

$9.00 for adults taking their own transportation.

Permission slips will be sent out soon. Please return the Permission slip and payment together to only your child’s teacher.

Please bring Lunch from home. For those who will be taking their own transportation, only shop when the bus has left Casa de Fruta. Parents please cooperate by NOT SHOPPING WHEN THE FIELDTRIP IS ON SESSION. IT CREATES A LOT OF CONFUSSION FOR CHILDREN AND STAFF. Thank you in advance for your cooperation on this important mater.

 Friday October 30th – Harvest festival

Beginning at 9:30 a.m.

9:30 a.m. We will parade to AAA .

10:00 a.m. We will have a catwalk to Show off our costumes.

11:45 a.m. Potluck party

This event will be over at 12:30 p.m. I will need lots of help cleaning up, so please plan on being here until at least 1:30 p.m.

(sign up lists will go up in your child’s classrooms doors. Please sign up, and bring what you sign up for.)

Feel free to bring your child in with their costume on. Gory, scary costumes are not allowed.

Volunteers are highly needed for this event. Please sign-up as soon as the sign-up sheet goes out. Thank you in advance.

A great thank you to all the volunteers that helped out in the Gizdich Apple Orchard fieldtrip. To those of you who came out and joined us at our back to school night, a big thank you for making it a success. A special thank you to Mr. Phu Nguyen (Damo’s Dad) for the Staplers donation he made to the Preschool.

September Newsletter

Welcome back little friends preschool families! We are blessed to have you all back. This school year will be a great one! I would like to take the time to answer some of the most asked questions we’ve had so far. If you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to ask any of the Teachers or myself.

*As you all know every child needs to have a Blanket and a Pillow for naptime, this is a Licensing regulation so please provide your child with these every day. Pillow and Blanket will need to go home every Friday.

*Toys from home are to be brought to school only on FRIDAYS FOR SHOW AND TELL.

*Please pack your child with a well- balanced lunch. Some sort of Protein, a drink and fruits and vegetables. No candy, cookies, Soda, Gum, fruit roll ups, Gummies are allowed for Lunch.We do sell emergency Lunches for $5.00 each. Please fill out the “Oh No I forgot” lunch form on the sign in table, and hand it to a teacher. The $5.00 payment will need to be paid on the same day that the Lunch is served. No IOU’S please.

*Please make sure that your child has extra clothes in their cubby. If your Child has an accident please make sure to take the wet clothes home, and bring in clean clothes the next day.

*Lessons begin at 9:00 a.m. Please have your child here before this time. Breakfast is served between 8:30 and 8:55 a.m.

 *School will be closed on Monday September 7, 2015 in honor of Labor Day.

As you know I have scheduled our fall fieldtrips.

Tuesday September 29th

Gizdich Apple Orchard 55, Peckham Rd, Watsonville, CA 95076

The Price for this fieldtrip is $16.00 per Child and Adult. This amount will cover for the Bus ride, Apple Picking, Apple Juice sampling and Johnny Apple Seed lesson.

We will start loading up the children at 7:45 a.m. The School Bus will be leaving the Preschool at 8:00 a.m. Sharp. We should be back at the Preschool no later than 1:30 p.m. ALL CHILDREN AND CHAPERONES MUST TAKE LUNCH FROM HOME. SHOPPING IS NOT ALLOWED. PARENTS THAT TAKE THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION CAN SHOP AFTER WE LOAD UP THE BUS TO COME HOME.

Friday October 23rd

Casa De fruta, 10021 Pacheco Pass Hwy, Hollister, CA 95023

The Price for this fieldtrip is $20.00. This price is higher than what I would like it to be, but you will get your money’s worth. This amount will cover for your transportation, a Carrousel ride, a train ride, a Pumpkin, the mining activity, the Tee pee area, snack, and a lesson activity that varies every year.

We will begin to load up the children at 8:15 am. The School Bus will be leaving the school at 8:30 a.m. Sharp. We should be back at the preschool no later than 2:00 p.m. ALL CHILDREN AND CHAPERONES MUST TAKE LUNCH FROM HOME. PARENTS THAT TAKE THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION CAN SHOPE AFTER WE LOAD UP THE BUS TO COME HOME.

Parents please have in mind that the returning hours are estimations. Please consider that if there is traffic of some sort, this will change. Please see me personally if you have any questions about the fieldtrips.

School will be closed on Monday September 7, 2015 in honor of Labor Day.

 Tuesday September 22, Picture Day. Pictures will start being taken at 8:00 a.m. I will be sending out the order forms as soon as they are made available to me.

Back to School will be on Thursday September 24, 2015.

We will be having a Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser. The Plate will include Spaghetti, Salad, and a piece of bread. A drink will be included, Lemonade. The cost per plate will be $5.00. Tickets will be sold in advance during the previous week. The Dinner will be available after 4:00 p.m. We will stop serving at 7:00 p.m. Families are welcome to have their dinner in the Dining Hall located by the Perfect Panda class.

The fundraiser will support the school with inside and outside toys. Ingredient donations are welcome, but not mandatory. In advance, thank you for your support!

August 2015 Newsletter

Dear Little Friends Preschool Families, thank you for allowing Little Friends Preschool be part of your child’s summer this year! We had a great time in company of your little ones.

August Reminders:

*Echoes From Calvary Church would like to invite all the Little Ladies of Little Friends Preschool to their annual Little Ladies Tea Party on Saturday August 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. I hope to see you all there for I will be attending with my little lady.

*$50.00 to cover for A Beka Books are due before August 5th. This fee is only to be paid if your child will be enrolled in our Kindergarten program (Zippy Zebras) or Preschool program (Loveable Loins & Magical Monkeys).

As you all have heard the news Mrs. Eli found a job in her Town, Greenfield and will be leaving us; and Mrs. Yvette found a job with school age children and will be leaving us too. We wish them both the best!

Mrs. Angela will be taking over Mrs. Elis class and Mrs. Ariana will be taking over Mrs. Yvette’s class. The Kindergarten class will be taught by Mrs. Carmen.

*New Tuition Prices:

Full –Time $630.00

Part- Time $471.00

*MAOF and Cal Works families will be responsible for paying the tuition balance that is not covered by these programs.

Tuition Payment must be made before the 5th of each month, or a $30.00 late fee will be charge to your account. Parents who choose to pay weekly, must make the prorated weekly payment early Monday morning directly to the Teacher that greets them. If you do not make the payment the child will not be able to stay.

Little Friends Preschool will be closed the following days, August 10th through the 14th. Our first day of school for the 2015-2016 school year will be on Monday August 17, 2015.

Graduation Month is here! Little Friends Teacher staff would like to thank all of the Little Friends Families for their unconditional support throughout this school year.We are blessed to work for you.Important information for you to know! Please mark your calendars.

June 11– Graduation

Graduation will be  Western theme, everyone is welcomed to cowboy & cowgirl up for this event. Feel free to invite as many people as you want for this event, and all of our events!

June 22 through June 26th Summer Program Begins Bugs, and Insect Theme. June 22nd  From 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Our Friend Estela from the Recycling center will be visiting us with a  compose table full of worms and other interesting bugs! Jurassic Pets will be visiting our school on June 25th @ 11:00 a.m.

School Will be Closed on Friday July 3rd

June 29th through July 2 USA Pride

July 2nd Little Friends will be having a  B~BQue for the Children on this day. A Dad Volunteer will save the Teachers  a lot  of trouble. Thank You in advance! If weather permits we will be having a water day this week, meaning the children will be Able to bring in their bathing suits and play with water during outside time between 11:00  a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

July 6th trough July 17th Camping theme  and Big week theme!

Dress your Cowboy and Cowgirl Best! We will be having stick horse/galloping races and much more!

July 17th  @ 9:30 a.m. We will be going on a fieldtrip to Boronda Community park. Located at 1114 Fontes Lane Salinas, CA 93907. I will be needing Volunteers for this field trip. We will besetting up camping tents and having a B~Bque for the Kids on this fieldtrip, so please sign up!

July20th trough August 7th Cooking and Kitchen safety

July 24th Carl’s Junior has opened it’s doors to Little Friends Preschool! We will be visiting Carl’s Jr. @ 10:00 a.m. Located on 1061 N Davis Rd. The Children will need to bring $ to buy a KIDS meal. I will be sending more details about the price as we get closer to this exiting fieldtrip. There is a possible fieldtrip to Mountain Mikes Pizzeria  located at 1020 N Davis Rd sometime in between these two weeks.

August 10th through August 14 School Will be closed

August 17 First day of 2015-2016 School year.

After not raising our Tuition for two years the Board of Directors have decided to raise our tuition  price. The new prices will go as follows:

Full Time: 6:45 a.m.—6:00 p.m. $630.00

Part Time: $475.00 6:45 a.m.—12:30 p.m. Kindergarten Program 6:45 a.m.—1:45 p.m.

This new prices will be effective as of August 2015.

Thank you for being faithful in paying your child’s tuition. We trust that you will finish the last semeter as you have. Your finances help to make our school possible for your child, and other children. We pray that on this 2014-2015 school year we’ve met the needs of each family here at the preschool, for this is the Goal of The Little friends Staff!

April 2015 Newsletter

April is the start of spring, hurray for spring!

We are looking forward to better weather and more outside time with fresh air for the kids, please have your child bring a light jacket for our a.m. and p.m. outside time.

This month at little friends, we are very excited to be presenting a number of exiting events!

*Thursday, April 2nd– Easter potluck and egg hunt celebrations will begin at 10:00 a.m. Set up will begin at 9:30 a.m.

*Friday, April 3rd– School will be closed in honor of Good Friday

*Tuesday, April 21st – SPCA will be visiting at 11:00 a.m.

*Wednesday, April 22nd – Earth Day, Recycle presentation at 11:00 a.m.

*Thursday, April 30th– Dia Del Nino celebration (Day of the Child celebration) We will be celebrating by having a carnival for the children between 10: 00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

We will need as many volunteers as possible to make this event possible for the children. I would love for a couple of parents to participate in the face painting booth, since this is one of the children’s favorite carnival areas.



Every Friday is show and tell at the preschool. You are always welcome to come and join us with your show and tell!

Attention Parents

Little Friends Preschool will be having our annual Easter Egg Hunt on Thursday, April 2nd, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Each child is expected to bring 3 hard boil Eggs by Tuesday, March 31st. After our Egg hunt we will be having our Easter potluck at 11:30 a.m. Please don’t forget to sign up for the potluck, and bring what you signed up for. We look forward to having as many volunteers as possible, please sign up by the sign up table.

Newsletter March 2015

With the days getting longer and Springtime just around the corner we leap into March with a renewed sense of excitement!

 We welcome Ms. Angela and Mrs. Carmen to our teaching team!

Ms. Angela is a member of Echoes from Calvary church and has Volunteered for the church’s  Sunday School program. She is fully qualified as a preschool assistant and is exited to begin working at the preschool.

Mrs. Carmen will be our substitute teacher and will be helping me with teacher breaks. She will be covering for Mrs. Ariana during her maternity leave. She brings much experience on the A Beka Curriculum, Christian education and expertise in Early Childhood Education to our school.  Please introduce yourself and help them feel at home here.

March 17- The SPCA will be visiting the Preschool at 11:00 a.m.

March 26- School Play. Children will need to be dressed on their Easter wear, unless asked differently by one of teachers. The Easter Play will begin at 7:00 p.m., but children will need to be in the “big classroom” by 6:30 p.m.

A special Thank you to Mr. Eduardo De La Cruz, Eddies Dad for all the volunteering hours he donated to the preschool, this past February, You are truly Appreciated!
