August 2015 Newsletter

Dear Little Friends Preschool Families, thank you for allowing Little Friends Preschool be part of your child’s summer this year! We had a great time in company of your little ones.

August Reminders:

*Echoes From Calvary Church would like to invite all the Little Ladies of Little Friends Preschool to their annual Little Ladies Tea Party on Saturday August 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. I hope to see you all there for I will be attending with my little lady.

*$50.00 to cover for A Beka Books are due before August 5th. This fee is only to be paid if your child will be enrolled in our Kindergarten program (Zippy Zebras) or Preschool program (Loveable Loins & Magical Monkeys).

As you all have heard the news Mrs. Eli found a job in her Town, Greenfield and will be leaving us; and Mrs. Yvette found a job with school age children and will be leaving us too. We wish them both the best!

Mrs. Angela will be taking over Mrs. Elis class and Mrs. Ariana will be taking over Mrs. Yvette’s class. The Kindergarten class will be taught by Mrs. Carmen.

*New Tuition Prices:

Full –Time $630.00

Part- Time $471.00

*MAOF and Cal Works families will be responsible for paying the tuition balance that is not covered by these programs.

Tuition Payment must be made before the 5th of each month, or a $30.00 late fee will be charge to your account. Parents who choose to pay weekly, must make the prorated weekly payment early Monday morning directly to the Teacher that greets them. If you do not make the payment the child will not be able to stay.

Little Friends Preschool will be closed the following days, August 10th through the 14th. Our first day of school for the 2015-2016 school year will be on Monday August 17, 2015.

Graduation Month is here! Little Friends Teacher staff would like to thank all of the Little Friends Families for their unconditional support throughout this school year.We are blessed to work for you.Important information for you to know! Please mark your calendars.

June 11– Graduation

Graduation will be  Western theme, everyone is welcomed to cowboy & cowgirl up for this event. Feel free to invite as many people as you want for this event, and all of our events!

June 22 through June 26th Summer Program Begins Bugs, and Insect Theme. June 22nd  From 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Our Friend Estela from the Recycling center will be visiting us with a  compose table full of worms and other interesting bugs! Jurassic Pets will be visiting our school on June 25th @ 11:00 a.m.

School Will be Closed on Friday July 3rd

June 29th through July 2 USA Pride

July 2nd Little Friends will be having a  B~BQue for the Children on this day. A Dad Volunteer will save the Teachers  a lot  of trouble. Thank You in advance! If weather permits we will be having a water day this week, meaning the children will be Able to bring in their bathing suits and play with water during outside time between 11:00  a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

July 6th trough July 17th Camping theme  and Big week theme!

Dress your Cowboy and Cowgirl Best! We will be having stick horse/galloping races and much more!

July 17th  @ 9:30 a.m. We will be going on a fieldtrip to Boronda Community park. Located at 1114 Fontes Lane Salinas, CA 93907. I will be needing Volunteers for this field trip. We will besetting up camping tents and having a B~Bque for the Kids on this fieldtrip, so please sign up!

July20th trough August 7th Cooking and Kitchen safety

July 24th Carl’s Junior has opened it’s doors to Little Friends Preschool! We will be visiting Carl’s Jr. @ 10:00 a.m. Located on 1061 N Davis Rd. The Children will need to bring $ to buy a KIDS meal. I will be sending more details about the price as we get closer to this exiting fieldtrip. There is a possible fieldtrip to Mountain Mikes Pizzeria  located at 1020 N Davis Rd sometime in between these two weeks.

August 10th through August 14 School Will be closed

August 17 First day of 2015-2016 School year.

After not raising our Tuition for two years the Board of Directors have decided to raise our tuition  price. The new prices will go as follows:

Full Time: 6:45 a.m.—6:00 p.m. $630.00

Part Time: $475.00 6:45 a.m.—12:30 p.m. Kindergarten Program 6:45 a.m.—1:45 p.m.

This new prices will be effective as of August 2015.

Thank you for being faithful in paying your child’s tuition. We trust that you will finish the last semeter as you have. Your finances help to make our school possible for your child, and other children. We pray that on this 2014-2015 school year we’ve met the needs of each family here at the preschool, for this is the Goal of The Little friends Staff!

April 2015 Newsletter

April is the start of spring, hurray for spring!

We are looking forward to better weather and more outside time with fresh air for the kids, please have your child bring a light jacket for our a.m. and p.m. outside time.

This month at little friends, we are very excited to be presenting a number of exiting events!

*Thursday, April 2nd– Easter potluck and egg hunt celebrations will begin at 10:00 a.m. Set up will begin at 9:30 a.m.

*Friday, April 3rd– School will be closed in honor of Good Friday

*Tuesday, April 21st – SPCA will be visiting at 11:00 a.m.

*Wednesday, April 22nd – Earth Day, Recycle presentation at 11:00 a.m.

*Thursday, April 30th– Dia Del Nino celebration (Day of the Child celebration) We will be celebrating by having a carnival for the children between 10: 00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

We will need as many volunteers as possible to make this event possible for the children. I would love for a couple of parents to participate in the face painting booth, since this is one of the children’s favorite carnival areas.

 

REMINDER

Every Friday is show and tell at the preschool. You are always welcome to come and join us with your show and tell!

 

A SPECIAL THANK YOU!

Attention Parents

Little Friends Preschool will be having our annual Easter Egg Hunt on Thursday, April 2nd, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Each child is expected to bring 3 hard boil Eggs by Tuesday, March 31st. After our Egg hunt we will be having our Easter potluck at 11:30 a.m. Please don’t forget to sign up for the potluck, and bring what you signed up for. We look forward to having as many volunteers as possible, please sign up by the sign up table.

Newsletter March 2015

With the days getting longer and Springtime just around the corner we leap into March with a renewed sense of excitement!

 We welcome Ms. Angela and Mrs. Carmen to our teaching team!

Ms. Angela is a member of Echoes from Calvary church and has Volunteered for the church’s  Sunday School program. She is fully qualified as a preschool assistant and is exited to begin working at the preschool.

Mrs. Carmen will be our substitute teacher and will be helping me with teacher breaks. She will be covering for Mrs. Ariana during her maternity leave. She brings much experience on the A Beka Curriculum, Christian education and expertise in Early Childhood Education to our school.  Please introduce yourself and help them feel at home here.

March 17- The SPCA will be visiting the Preschool at 11:00 a.m.

March 26- School Play. Children will need to be dressed on their Easter wear, unless asked differently by one of teachers. The Easter Play will begin at 7:00 p.m., but children will need to be in the “big classroom” by 6:30 p.m.

A special Thank you to Mr. Eduardo De La Cruz, Eddies Dad for all the volunteering hours he donated to the preschool, this past February, You are truly Appreciated!

February Newsletter 2015

              

February is the perfect Month to celebrate love and Family, here at Little Friends Preschool we will be doing so through the month.

 I would like to thank the families for their unconditional support during this last months, I am truly blessed to work for all of you.

As some of you already know Mrs. Maggie is no longer an employee at Little Friends  she is an amazing person, coworker and friend, she will truly be missed.

I was fortunate to find an assistant for Mrs. Dora’s class, Mrs. Elvia.

Mrs. Elvia is a well-educated teacher assistant working on getting her Bachelors of Arts. She is blessed to be a mother of two beautiful boys, and is eager to work for the little friends family. You will began to see Mrs. Elvia on the Second to Third week of February, we are still waiting on her finger print clearance.

January 2015 Newsletter

Welcome to 2015, we hope that everyone had a great holiday season. Little friends Preschool is looking forward to another amazing year full of learning and adventure! Our school sincerely appreciates all of your help, support, and volunteered time you provided for us on this past 2014.

 

We have been blessed through the years to have wonderful teachers as a part of our Staff. It is always sad to see a teacher leave. Some leave due to personal, financial or physical issues, and some leave to pursue other areas of interest. But we are always blessed to welcome new teachers to join our little friends Preschool team. We continue to set standards for hiring qualified teachers who have a passion to prepare our children for success in school, life, and eternity.

 

Here are some important dates to mark on your calendar:

 January 19th – MLK Little Friends Preschool will be closed

January 20th – SPCA will be visiting our Preschool

February 2dn – Little Friends will be celebrating Dr. Seuss Birthday. Mr. Cat in the Hat will be visiting the school and reading the children some stories at 11:00 a.m.  We  welcome our student’s to dress up as their favorite Dr. Seuss characters, or one created by their imagination! This is a fantastic opportunity to “research” with your child. Make visits to local libraries and check out some of Dr. Seuss super silly books!

February 6th – Post office walking fieldtrip. We will be taking each class individually beginning at 10:15 a.m.

 

*Friendly reminder to our families the $100.00 yearly registration fee is due before the end of this month. You may make this payment at any time with either Mrs. Barbara or myself. Thank you in advance.*

November Newsletter

Parents and Family, we would like to thank all of you for your help and participation in our Casa de fruta fieldtrip. Thanks to all of you, the fieldtrip was a success, I hope you all had a great time!

I would like to mention that I really appreciate those of you who waited for the bus to leave to go shopping. Thank you.

Following are some important dates to mark on your calendar.

 

*Sunday November 2nd, is the end of Daylight savings time

 

*Tuesday November 11th, School will be closed in remembrance of Veterans Day

 

*Tuesday November 18th,   the SPCA will be visiting the school

 

*Tuesday November 25th, we will be celebrating Thanksgiving by having a Potluck Feast. This celebration will be from 11:30-1:30. In order for our potluck to be a success we need all of the families to sign up on the potluck lists that will be put up in the children’s classrooms on the second week of November.

 

*Tuesday November 25th, School Yearbook pre-orders will be due.

 

*We will be closed in observation of Thanksgiving beginning on Wednesday November 26th, through Friday November 28th. School will resume its regular schedule on Monday December 1st.

 

This year Little Friends preschool will not be having a Thanksgiving play, since it is very hard for teachers and students to have two plays back to back, and we want our students to enjoy this wonderful experience. Thank you for your understanding on this matter.

There is information on the back of the newsletter in regards a new incentive approach we are taking in an effort to motivate our students to make the “right choices” every day. Please read it, and help us by reviewing the motivational chart with your child every day.

If you have any questions in regards any of this events or information please don’t hesitate to talk to me or your child’s teacher.

October Newsletter

Fall is in the air and we have lots of fun activities planned for our Little Friends!  Here are some of the events that we are looking forward to, this month:

Picture Day will be held on Friday, October 10th. Pictures will be taken bet Dress your child for fall, and be ready for this year’s beautiful, autumn portraits! The photographer will be taking pictures between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

Our field trip to Casa de Fruta will be on Friday, October 17th.  We will meet at school at 8:00 A.M., ready to board the bus and be off to a wonderful adventure at the pumpkin patch! On this special day breakfast will be served between 7:00 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. Please do not be late for this highlight trip of the year! Permission slips will be coming out the second week of October.

We will be celebrating fall with a Harvest Festival on October 31st.Our Celebrations will begin at 9:30 a.m.  We will have a runway presentation, games, a parade to the AAA offices and a potluck luncheon! A volunteer list for this event will be put out soon. Please remember-no scary costumes or weapons of any kind at school.  Thank you for your cooperation with this.  A potluck sign-up sheet will be posted on each classroom door in the coming weeks.  Family are always welcome to come and enjoy this special time with us!

Beginning this month, we will have special presentations coming to us from the SPCA. A representative will share interesting facts on how to care for different animals and bring an animal friend in to visit! We look forward to these wonderful times to come!

As you can see, October will be a busy and fun month for us! We love this time of year and we hope that your child and your family will have an awesome autumn season, this year! Love and blessings from Little Friends Preschool.

Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year! We are so excited to begin learning in our new classrooms, and we pray that this school year is full of learning and spiritual growth for our wonderful little friends.

These are the following dates to please mark on your calendars:

 Wednesday September 17- Gizdich Apple Orchard 8:30 a.m. – 2:00p.m.

The Bus cost will be $10.00 ( Adults and Children ridding the Bus)

The Orchard cost is $5.00 per child. (Adults do not pay)

I can only take 14 parent Volunteers in the Bus. These 14 volunteers will be on the first come first serve basis. In other words the first 14 people that pay will be riding the bus. The permission slips will be in the sign in sheets on Wednesday September 3, 2014, and will be due no later than Friday September 12, 2014.

 Friday September 19 – Open House 6:30p.m. – 7:30p.m.

There will be a short greeting in the Dining Hall before parents and students are dismissed to go into the classrooms. This event is intended to give you a general idea of your child’s learning environment and the A Beka curriculum. If you would like to set up a parent-teacher conference to further discuss your child’s progress, please speak to your child’s teacher or Mrs. Johana.

Parents I would like to give you a few reminders. Every Friday is show and tell.   This is the only day of the week that your child may bring toys from home.

Our lost and found is at its peak. Please check for your child’s personal belongings every Friday. If by any chance your child went home with a jacket or any other item that doesn’t belong to him or her, please return it the following day to one of the morning teachers.

Please label your child’s belongings! This will prevent a lot of uncomfortable situations for parents, students and staff.

I will be taking some personal time off from September 10 through September 16. If in my absence you have any questions in regards to the fieldtrip or any other school matter, don’t hesitate to talk to your child’s teacher. If any of these questions are in regards to the parent handbook or finances, please see Mrs. Barbara or call her directly at (831) 422-2873.

In a sad note, I would like to announce that due to Mrs. Diana’s health problems she has been put on disability by her Doctor. We will sure miss her, and pray for her fast recovery.
